Microphone Test — Check Your Mic

Test your microphone with a live level meter, then record a clip and play it back — in your browser.

Input level

Start the test, then talk to see your microphone level.

About Microphone Test — Check Your Mic

Check that your microphone works in seconds. Allow access and speak — the live level meter moves when your mic picks up sound, confirming it's connected and working. If you have several microphones, switch between them to find the right one.

You can also record a short test clip and play it back to hear exactly how you sound, then download it if you want to keep it. Everything is computed and recorded locally in your browser and the mic is released when you stop — nothing is uploaded. It's the quick way to test a mic before a meeting or call.

Confirm your mic works

Input
Start mic test → talk → Record → play back
Output
The level bar moves, and your recorded clip plays back.

No sound? Pick a different microphone from the selector.

Frequently asked questions

Can I record and play back my voice?

Yes. Start the test, hit Record, then Stop, and the clip appears with a player so you can hear yourself. You can download it too. Recording is optional — the live meter alone confirms the mic works.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. The meter and any recording are handled entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server, and the mic is released when you stop.

The meter doesn't move — what's wrong?

Make sure you allowed microphone access, the correct mic is selected, and it isn't muted or in use by another app.

Can I choose which microphone to test?

Yes. If more than one input is available, a selector lets you switch between them.
