Whois Lookup — Domain Registration

Look up a domain's registrar, creation and expiry dates, name servers and status — via RDAP.

This tool runs on our server. Because a browser can't perform this network lookup, the value you enter is sent to DevKit Labs to run the check — we don't store your queries. A local desktop version that runs from your own machine is planned.

About Whois Lookup — Domain Registration

Enter a domain to see its registration details: the registrar, when it was created, last updated and when it expires, its name servers, and its domain status codes. Registrant contact details are usually redacted by registries for privacy, so those may not appear.

This uses RDAP — the modern, structured replacement for classic Whois — via a public bootstrap that queries the authoritative registry. Because a browser can't make these queries, the lookup runs on our server and the results are returned to you; we don't store the domains you look up.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Whois and RDAP?

RDAP is the modern, JSON-based protocol that's replacing legacy Whois. It returns structured, consistent data. This tool uses RDAP under the hood while giving you the familiar Whois information.

Why can't I see the owner's name and email?

Since GDPR and registry privacy policies, registrant contact details are usually redacted. You'll typically see the registrar and dates, but not personal contact info.

Why does this run on your server?

Browsers can't query registry RDAP/Whois services directly, so the lookup is performed server-side and returned to you. The domain you enter is sent to our server; we don't store it.

Some TLDs return nothing — why?

A few registries don't publish RDAP data, or the domain may be unregistered. In those cases no record is returned.
